First Day of Lil' K

Lil’ K had a strong start with twelve kids. If I had a dream for a great first day with preschoolers at Lil’ K, then today WAS the day. Thank you, God! Thank you, volunteers! If we grow in number to match the amount of helpers, then it will be amazing. The DVD teaching was captivating and all other aspects were age attractive. The booster seats in the van worked like a charm. Thank you Miss Mindy from HeadStart for your kind donation of eight seats, which added to our six made one fully equipped van. And Nancy H. has such a precious way of introducing herself as van driver and beginning the excitement of Lil’ K with each child she encounters. It is going to be an amazing year!

First Day of FWFriends

Volunteers are gifts from God Almighty. We prepared for four crews of seven kids each (28) and we ended up with five crews of seven (35 give or take a few). This day, even though hectic, was a wonderful first day for FWFriends.

Okay but, no matter HOW hard you try, it seems like you can NEVER be prepared enough. Thank goodness the kids will never know it, but Miss Tammie didn’t get it all right.

As a matter of fact, I think I forgot my brain because somehow I ended up with three vehicles (two vans and Miss Jackie's car) at the school?!?! It’s like I forgot how to ‘do’ FWFriends. The kids will never know that Miss Tammie never took roll or that she forgot to lay out teaching supplies or that as she was ‘walking to the vans’ to pick up kids that is when she noticed the booster seats sitting by the back door. Do you think they thought, “Now, that’s what a chicken with her head cut off looks like.”

Parents…sorry we had a late dismissal. It will get better. It already is better! I love your kids, but more importantly HE loves them and HE will get it right every time. Fear Not!

First Day of Kidmo

Kidmo kicked off yesterday! We had 21 kids and some of them were first timers to Kidmo and some were a direct result of relationships built thru camp this summer. Isn’t that great! We missed Kellen and Tori who are regulars.

Crystal Huffman, Madison & Zac’s mom, helped me with the extra van. It will be a two-van kind of year for Kidmo, which is exciting. Our numbers will be down at FWFriends today for one reason, preschoolers are moving to Wednesdays and the second, the dynamics of the grades have shifted to smaller classes. It was a big third grade class that moved up to Kidmo.

We may have to adjust our reward days for Kidmo. Trips to Dairy Queen may be replaced by a pizza party or similar, but we’ll see. Becky, the manager, may faint if thirty kids tromp into DQ someday. I’m still all for a Christmas Trip to Wichita Falls, though. If Crystal is game and up for the trip, then so am I. I enjoy having deep talks and discussions with this age group. I look forward to a great year. Thanks for encouraging your tweenagers to come. Bless ya!

Hiz Kiz Ministry Begins...

Kidmo is a bible program sponsored by Hiz Kiz Ministry designed for 4-6th graders. Classes begin September 14th, 2009 on Mondays at Goree after school (church vans) until 5 p.m. The kids will still be picked up by parents at Munday First Baptist. Nothing's changed!

Except...drum roll please...the kids will be challenged on a deeper level this year.

At Summer Camp the kids practically learned the book of James. This opened our eyes to the depth of scripture in which they have the ability to absorb. So for this next year we are bringing part of camp home, we will have weekly 'Bible Brain Buster Contests' and verse memorization. Soooo, put on your thinking caps and gear up for some good times with God.

HEY 1-3rd GRADERS:

It's time to have some fun learning about God. FaithWeavers Friends begins on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 at Munday First Baptist Church. We will pick you up after school and your parents can pick you up at 5:00 p.m. from the west side of the church.

Hey Parents, we are beginning a 'new' preschool ministry for Ages 3-5, different day and different church. On Wednesdays if your child is in school, then they can ride the van to Believers Chapel for LIL' K. If they are not already in school, then drop them off at the church at 3:30 p.m. We will finish at 5:00 p.m. and you can pick up your child at that time.

Crocodile Dock

"I thought vbs was great. It was such a blessing to me as much as the kiddos. Love ya, Lanette." Now, that is fun to hear. Is the VBS hangover gone yet? IDK, but it seems like it may be getting close. Well, I'd like to challenge everyone to upload their pix to www.walgreens.com again this year. I have very few...the lense thing hindered my pic taking this year. But, I will upload what I have and hope that everyone will do the same. Click on Photos, Username: icjesusnu, Password: trains

Cannot wait to see 'em...

Your ways, Lord...

It’s just your normal morning—I’m reflecting on camp for Hiz Kiz, the $750 deposit has been sent by my church. No turning back now. I make a list of hopefuls from Kidmo and plan on including 3rd graders who need to connect with these Kidmo kids for next years’ transition…wow, two van loads likely—groovy! My last thought on the subject, ‘Gotta do some intense fundraiser meals.’

I set the list aside and start my day by opening the mail. On top is a card from blah-blah, a lady who wants to remain incognito. Oh, how sweet we just worked a retreat together and she already misses me and I barely know her, she’s not even from around here. Then I open the envelope—GAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

“Hi Lady, (Hey—Ho, was over the top, that’s our Hiz Kiz attention getter) Have some fun with your kids…no names please—just between you and me and HIM! Much love for you. You are making a difference. I’m praying for you! Yes-I am.”
I hyperventilated!!! I’m serious!!! I couldn’t breathe after I opened the card which held a thousand dollar check! No one has EVER blessed me like this! VBS program, yes…stuff like that happens tons, but...I’m speechless. I cried like a little baby—hiccups and all. WE ARE GOING TO CAMP!!! THANK YOU, GOD! The verse at the bottom of Miss blah-blah’s card is Philippians 4:19, “You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need…”

God, You ROCK! And so does Miss Blah-blah! I love you, both!
