Let's Talk About It Question?

At FWFriends today the 'Let's talk about it' question went something like this...."Tell of a time when you felt important this week." I shared about my 'Abby-Tammie-time'. But, the piece-de-la-resistance was the experience we had with Kade at FWF today.

He came up to me as we were loading on the van and said that that morning he had prayed that Jesus would wash his sins away and he wanted to talk to me about asking Jesus into his heart.

Later we talked and he explained how his dad had made the commitment that they should pray every night. While Kade was praying for some of his friends he realized that he was a lot like them and he didn't feel good on the inside about that fact. He repented the next morning, this morning, and he knew it was 'time'.

He and I prayed, talked and made it officially, official. His dad had already led him there. I was just there at the finish line to give him a hug. Really in truly, this is one of the 'rare' moments when I actually, clearly saw the Holy Spirit's guidance. A few of his buddies had been saved and baptized not too long ago and this, in his words, made him mad. I think that was his way of saying that he wanted what they had, but just hadn't 'felt' drawn, yet. His dad wisely allowed the Spirit to work and didn't push. We aren't pushy at FWF's, either. Todays' lesson on the gifts was a good one.

It reminded me that it takes the whole body to 'do' FWF...crew leaders, station leaders, director, dads, teachers, grandmas, pastors, etc. We all have special gifts and it's my deepest desire that we are working in our sweet spots producing much, much fruit for HIM.
